Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Is that how it works? I am afraid some thing may be double counted..
For example in 2019
1) Employer reporting 3500 in W2, so I reported employer had contributed 3500 in 2019.
2) BUT the HSA provider only reported 2333.33 in 2019, and the 1167 in 2020 Jan 1st.
Therefore in 2020 the HSA is reporting an extra 1167 in 2020 saying it was for 2019. If i report this as a previous year contribution on turbo tax, won't the IRS think I overcontributed in 2019 since the W2 had already said 3500 was contributed from employer???
