My returns were rejected saying that my 14-digit state employer ID number was incorrect. I checked with my employer, Granite School District in Utah, and they confirmed that the state employer ID number on my W-2 is correct. They also told me they had many calls from employees who are turbotax users who had the same problem. This means that Turbotax incorrectly singles out as incorrect my particular state employer ID number making it impossible for people working at my employer to e-file using turbotax. I wish there were a way to communicate this to turbotax so that the issue can be resolved. I had to "skip the fix" and choose to print and mail my returns because turbotax would not let me e-file. It was a big hassle and cost me a lot of time on customer support to find out that turbotax is the problem. Please fix this turbotax!
