It looks like you entered everything correctly. The $12,000 won't be taxable and will not show on line 4b. Please check line 4a and 4b of your Form 1040:
- Click on "Tax Tools" in the left menu
- Click "Tools"
- Click "View Tax Summary" in the Tool Center window
- Click on "Preview my 1040" on the left
You won't get step 10 from the contribution because TurboTax makes it nondeductible because your AGI is too high.
