I'm not sure if you mean you are running a ministry or you worked for a ministry, so I'll address both situations below.
Qualified churches and ministries do not have to report donations and contributions they receive. Non profits do have to file an informational form, but religious organizations are exempt. However, when religious organization pay individuals for work they perform, it is always taxable as income. If you were an employee, the organization should issue you a W-2. If you did not receive a W-2, then you would be considered a contractor and need to report it as income under self-employment.
