Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You can use the following menu tabs in TurboTax to add your interest income and schedule B will be generated automatically:
- Income and expenses
- Interest and Dividends
- Interest on 1099-INT
Just enter the name of the company you had the money invested in and the amount of the interest.
For investment sales, to populate a schedule D, follow these instructions:
- Income and expenses
- Investment Income
- Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
Enter the date acquired, date sold, cost and sales price of the investment transactions.
If you just had capital gain distributions, you need to enter a dummy form 1098-DIV (in the Interest and Dividends section) and enter the capital gain distributions in box 2(a).
