If you e-filed your return, you will almost certainly receive whatever refund was showing on that return - the IRS won't start checking (matching) the 1099-MISC information in your return to what was sent to them until later in the year.
As @JohnB5677 stated above,
- You MAY get an IRS notice in about six to nine months that will be an inquiry about what you posted.
- You will have the opportunity to respond.
- I suggest that you Find a local IRS office, and explain the situation to them (not likely to be easy)
- They will assist you with the formalities of the tax notice, and what you have to do (also unlikely to be easy).
- You can then contact us and correct what needs to be done (much better!).
