Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You may be able to deduct up to $3,000 of the rent paid on your Indiana home. You may be able to take this deduction if:
- You paid rent on your principal place of residence, AND,
- The place you rented was subject to Indiana property tax.
Follow these steps:
- Click on State down the left side of the screen.
- At the screen Status of your state returns, click Edit to the right of the Indiana tax return.
- At the screen Your 2020 Indiana taxes…., click Edit to the right of Income and deductions.
- At the screen Here’s the income ……, click Start to the right of Renters Deduction.
