If the tax paid through the EFTPS was assigned to your form 1040 for 2020, then you can enter the payment in the estimated tax section in TurboTax and you will get credit for it on your personal tax return this year. Comment: This is the 3rd different answer I've received to my inquiry since originally submitted. Although I appreciate the classification you have as an employee tax expert, you should know that when I called the IRS about the matter, the rep stated I would have to first file my 2020 tax return prior to an overpayment made via EFTPS being refunded. Water under the bridge now because I filed my return as instructed. Thank you. |
