This is my first time filing taxes. Thank you in advance for the help if this is a stupid question.
I don't get it. I made just over 42.3k in 2020. I withheld 5.6k in federal taxes (~13.2%). Shouldn't my federal taxes be mostly in the 12% bracket?
Turbo tax is stating I owe $3.4k extra in federal taxes? This makes no sense to me. My refund for my home state is >$600 which seems fine. I just dont get why I would owe so much in extra federal taxes?
