With the Work Share program, a worker receives a reduced salary from an employer, but is given a percentage of their state unemployment benefits The reduction in work hours must result in an equivalent reduction in wages.
Yes, you will receive a W2 that should have the total amount paid to you for the hours you did work. For what ever Unemployment you received, depending on how your particular State handles work share payments, you should also receive a 1099-G for that amount. Some States pay this directly to the work share recipient, and in some States the Employer will pay a percentage of your unemployment benefits.
