Get your taxes done using TurboTax
To get your withholding back, you would have to file a nonresident tax form. A nonresident taxpayer is allowed a “nonresident” credit for all income not earned or received in Ohio. The credit is calculated on the Ohio Schedule of Credits using the taxpayer’s non-Ohio portion of their Ohio adjusted gross income. Taxpayers must use form IT NRC to calculate the non-Ohio portion of their Ohio adjusted gross income.
TurboTax will prepare the correct forms based on your entries.
Also, please see IT 2018-01 – Residency Guidelines - Tax Imposed on Resident and Nonresident Individuals for Taxable ... for information on establishing Nonresidency status for Ohio.
