The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which consisted of government-backed loans to help small businesses and other eligible applicants continue covering payroll costs and certain operating expenses during the coronavirus pandemic.
