No, you can't wait until next year (2022l to file your 2020 1099-G form for unemployment.

 

2020 income must be filed on your 2020 tax return.  The IRS will also receive a copy of your 1099-G, and they will  either reject your return when you try to e-file or they will send you a letter and ask why you didn't include it.

 

You should receive your 1099-G after 1/31/21.  The IRS will not even begin processing returns until 2/12.
