IRS is the owner of the issue and therefore able to help. Unfortunately, IRS has not been operating at full capacity since March 2020. They are still short staffed plus added responsibilities of issuing Stimulus checks. However, you said you are working with the Taxpayer Advocate which is the best assistance for your issue.
