just go through TT questions and there will be a point where TT asks if she was a resident of CA for the whole year; it provides the opportunity to indicate she was a non-resident for a period of time. Just trust the TT calculations from there. No need to calculate anything on your own (that is why you are buying the software, so that THEY do the calcs!)
