Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Exactly what it says, the IRS hasn’t finished some forms. There have been several changes to the tax laws this year including some changes just a week ago. The IRS has to finish the forms and approve the final versions, then they have to be programmed into TurboTax, and then TurboTax has to be reviewed and approved by the IRS.
In any case, the IRS is not scheduled to open e-filing until January 27. TurboTax may allow e-filing on January 7, although it may be delayed due to the recent tax changes. Whenever TurboTax allows e-filing, your tax return will simply go into cold storage until the IRS opens their e-file process. TurboTax will not allow any return to be e-filed until whatever forms that particular return requires or updated to their final status. I suggest checking back on January 8 to see if TurboTax has been properly updated and if e-filing is open. If not, I would check about once a week after that.
