I recently got a new computer. My dot tax files (.tax) transferred in the documents files, not as part of the TurboTax download/desktop software. I have both TurboTax Deluxe and TT Business on my computer. When I try to open my personal return (.tax file) it defaults to TT Business and not TT Deluxe; which means I can’t open it. I did save a pdf copy of my return.
How can I get my computer (windows) to open the .tax file using TT Deluxe? I've tried opening Deluxe before trying to open the .tax file. Do I need to uninstall TT Business?
