My wife makes less than 12,000 a year and has no withholdings on her pay cycles. Will this impact the amount of our tax return? I make ~100,000 a year.

I understand making less than 12,000 a year (the standard deduction) means you don't owe any taxes.  But what about if you are filing married jointly with a spouse who makes much more?

In my example: Wife makes 10,000 and I make 100,000.  Wife has no withholdings on her paycheck, but I do.  So when it comes time to do tax returns, our total income is 110,000 and my wife's 10,000 of that income has not had any withholdings.

This probably means there's 10,000 of our income that I'll end up owing taxes on?  And this would make our tax return less, right?
