Sorry if I confused you. My daughter wants to claim exempt as she doesn’t want to go thru the hassle of filing a tax return. But, the irs documents say you can’t file exempt if you had a tax liability. So what would happen if she did file exempt ? Increasing the number of exemptions just to have less taxes taken out doesnt seen right either since she is a single female making $6k
