It's also possible you provided an invalid or incorrect e-mail address, or that you or your ISP has such emails blocked. If you e-filed you can check the status 72 hours *AFTER* you submitted your e-filed return at http://www.irs.gov/refunds.
If no status is there after 72 hours, then you didn't e-file.
