If you changed the phone number in your Intuit Account settings to a valid USA number, and still get the same 601ERRV:5 error when efiling, then try this:

  • Log out of TurboTax.
  • Close your browser and reopen it.
  • Then sign in to TurboTax and try to efile.
  • If still a problem, log out and close the browser again.  I've seen a user say he had to log out and close browser a couple of times, then it suddenly worked.

 

If still not working after all that, it "might" be possible for some users to leave the Intuit Account phone number blank.  If you try that, then after saving your setting, log out and close the browser as described above.  Then try again.
