After you enter your 1099-R in the federal return, you must Continue on until you're all the way through the 1099-R interview. One of the screens asks you to check the source of the pension. You need to choose KPERS there. It sounds like you may have left the default to federal pension. Return and go all the way through the interview, after correcting your choice on that screen.
In the federal program,Type 1099-R in the Find window on the upper right , hit enter, click on the Jump To. Go to the summary of 1099s and choose this one to edit.
