First, did your IRS letter give you a fax number to use?
Second, is there anyone in the IRS office yet to pick up and process the fax?
We don't know the answer to #2 and have no way to know. Unfortunately, that is a question that only the IRS itself can answer, especially since there is likely more than one fax number nationwide for the various offices handling this.
