Look for an "extra" Form 1099-MISC and an associated "Schedule C" in your TurboTax. Use the "Delete a form" feature to delete any 1099-MISC that is not for the SPIFF you received, and any unnecessary Schedule C.
If you are using a Download/CD version of TurboTax, you can do this in Forms mode (icon at top right in blue bar).
Here's how to delete your form in TurboTax Online:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select the dropdown arrow next to Tax Tools and then underneath that Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
