There is another weird situation when you have made estimated tax payments to your state, which TT notes on a worksheet. It takes the amounts just fine but blocks the sheet unless you enter AN ID NUMBER. No clue, no prompt. After MUCH experimentation, I discovered the field will accept only a 2 digit alpha code. Every numerical format is rejected with the first digit. I put in my state's 2 digit postal code, which happened to be VA and it accepted it. I did have then manually type it in on each of the 5 lines - it did not feed from the box at the top as I already had the numbers in the lines. And my form cleared review. It would be a helluva mess to have it reject auto filing for something like this. I am just putting this out here for the universe in case any one else has the same problem.
