Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Yes - you can! Quick Employer Forms lets you create W-2, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-DIV forms. You will have to file 1096 by mail.
To do this in TurboTax:
-
Sign in - Continue your/take me to my return
- Go to Federal Taxes, Income & Expenses - Start/Revisit Self-Employment Income/Expenses
- TurboTax will ask: 'Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?'
Answer: Yes (enter work description, income like 1099-MISC, 1099-K, checks/cash)
- Arrive at Tell us if you have any of these less common situations - select I made payments that required me to issue a form 1099 to others.
-
Confirm your business details like name and address. Pay Any Employees? Yes (that start here link goes here: Quick Employer Forms)
Be advised: this process removes Federal Taxes from the topic navigation tabs. You will now see Business (for your Schedule C) and Personal at the top of your screen.
Form 1096 and its instructions can be found here: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1096.pdf
