Get your taxes done using TurboTax
That link is marked as outdated and contradicts the eligibility conditions as stated by the IRS regarding the Economic Impact check.
I am having the same problem as many other posters here, where my spouse filed as MFS but when I attempt to submit the non-filer's form to receive the stimulus check the program asks me to change my status to Married Filing Jointly, which I cannot do. Nor can I file as single. That is because I am married and the IRS already has me recorded as such. I had the same problem when trying to use the program on the IRS website, which did not have the MFS option.
None of the advice on this forum addresses the actual problem described or how to actually fix it. The help documents do not address it. The Turbo Tax representative I talked to on the phone did not understand the problem.
It is as though this website and this whole affair vomited back through space and time to inspire Kafka.
If anyone knows something helpful, please share.
