Get your taxes done using TurboTax

This will only delete what is in the form that is showing on the screen and does not delete the actual return that was filed with the IRS.  If you go to Check E-File Status in the upper right-hand corner and put in your social security number it will show that your return has already been accepted by the IRS. Once the return has been submitted, there is no way to delete it.  However, I still don't know what the answer is to this problem as I have done the exact same thing.  I spoke to a friend who is a tax preparer and she recommended waiting one month and see what happens.  She said that none of this should affect getting the stimulus payment.  And she also recommended not filing a 1040X amended return.  She recommended that we file our correct 1040 on paper and let the IRS figure out when they receive our return. We owe so I am waiting to send it in in July and I'm pretty sure that the IRS won't mind getting a check from us with a correct return!
