This is strange and I have been able to reproduce the same error. It appears as if once a beneficiary is entered the number of K-1s attached increments by 1 on Form 1041 even if no distributions are made.

 

However, I was able to override the number on my test 1041, enter a zero for the number of K-1s attached, did not receive an error flag, and was able to proceed all the way through to e-file (transmitting the return).
