My stimulus check was off by an unusual amount as well, but after looking at it again, it was listed on my bank account as "US HHS Stimulus HHSPAYMENT ACH". I think that is a separate stimulus I received as a medicare/medicaid provider and that my actual stimulus check hasn't been deposited yet, but am not sure. Any chance you are a healthcare provider as well or can share how the stimulus amount was described on your account?
