Not making anyone afraid - just pointing out the tax law.
Also amended returns take an average of 4 months to process and if an amended return is filed before the original return has been fully processed then both returns can be delayed 6 months or more since they must be hand processed and anything the IRS does by hand is slow.
Do what you want. You have 3 years to file an amended return to correct an error or honest mistake. Knowingly filing an incomplete tax return is neither.
In any event, those forms should be available long before the July 15 filing date.
