Get your taxes done using TurboTax

You should have received a 1099-SA if you have a HSA account. If you did not receive one, I would call the administrator of your HSA and ask them to send you another one. There are several boxes that need to be entered into TurboTax as well as the Payer TIN.

You also need to know how much was deposited in your account. If your employer is depositing contributions you should see a Code W in Box 12 of your W2. If this is true, you do not need to enter this figure as the program will do so automatically. If you made contributions to the HSA via personal check or cash, then you will need to enter that figure.

To enter the information in TurboTax:

  1. While signed in and working in TurboTax Online 2019, click on Federal in the black menu on left.
  2. Click on Deduction and Credits in the upper portion of the page.
  3. Scroll down and click on Medical, Show More.
  4. Choose Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) by entering Start or Revisit
