I think I will try to delete the MA return and start that one over, having completed Fed and RI, unless you think there is a better way. I did step through the interview several times and accounted for my RI situation, but it still seems off because total MA %5.05 wages are higher compared to Fed total Wages by exactly the 401k and RI unemployment amounts.
Do you have thoughts on my 401k distribution I mentioned? It was added to the fed Wages/Income total on my taxable mass income, even though it was already contained in the Federal Wages that were imported into my MA return. BTW, I am married filing jointly
In summary, our wages/earnings on Fed return are shown as
W2s + 401K distribution + RI Unemployment = Total wages Fed
MA shows
Total wages Fed (W2 + 401K distribution + RI Unemployment) + (401k + RI Unemployment) = MA %5.05 taxable.
