I am on an O1 Visa, had to file my federal tax return first to get ITINs for my Dependents (Wife, 2x Children). We did this as a local tax office as not to post our passports, on Feb 11th, they said it would take up 10 weeks to process. I am now concerned there will be a delay due to COVID-19 .
We are due a Federal & State Refund, so own no further taxes but first time of filing.
Since then my wife has received a SSN as our visas have been approved. Do I need the ITIN to file for State Taxes? How can I check up on the ITIN status - will there be delays?
