Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Sometimes the forms do need to be reset as you suggest depending on the order items are entered - hopefully that is the case here as well. Do makes sure the category of income matches between the two (it sounds like the 1116 income category should be general category income in this case.)
To reset the form using TurboTax online follow these steps:
- Login to TurboTax.com.
- Click on Tax Tools in the menu on the left (you may need to first click on Take me to my return or Continue where I left off to see this option.)
- Click on Tools.
- In the pop-up menu, click Delete a Form.
- Scroll to find Form 1116, and click Delete. This deletes just the form, and not the data that you have entered into TurboTax.
- Click on Review in the menu on the left to re-run calculations and then take another look at the form.
If you are using the Desktop/CD version of TurboTax follow these steps:
- Click on the Forms icon in the upper right of the program.
- Find Form 1116 in the menu on the left and click to highlight it.
- Click Delete Form at the bottom of the image of the form.
- Click on the Step-by-Step icon (or Easy Step on Mac) to return to the program.
- Click on the Review tab and run the review to recalculate and repopulate the forms.
