Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You should be able to amend now (sorry I just noticed your message is from Feb).
TurboTax definitely skipped this verification and had the nerve to send me an email about paying for their processing/service fees. I originally filed 2/4 but then called IRS on 3/12- I still do not have my refund. Anyway, when I was told by the IRS that the 8962 and 1095-A were missing I went to check Healthcare(dot)gov and they also had a corrected 1095-A waiting (2/10- after I already filed!). Even when I did the amend via TurboTax you will need to print out and send the 1095-A and filled out 8962 to the IRS:
+ You can wait for the letter from the IRS which will give you a batch number and other credentials that will help them find your info, and mail it all back, or
+ You can Mail the IRS at Internal Revenue Service before you get the letter in the mail, and don't mail another one out when you get the actual mail from IRS... but you need to call for the correct address for YOU personally; [phone number removed], extension 568, or
+ You can Fax the IRS, but you need to call [phone number removed], extension 568 for the correct fax number for the correct location for YOU personally. With the fax I also attached the amended page 2 of my 1040, and a cover letter. The cover letter requires Name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth. I also added an explanation of why I was amending and that I did not formally receive a letter.
EDIT*** Phone numbers removed: so Google "Reconciling Your Advance Payments of the Premium Tax Credit" and head to the IRS site. Under the "You May Want To" Subject header in the article is the number you want to call.
There are 5 IRS locations to handle these requests, so please get the right info to send your forms to.
The IRS agent said it can still take up to 6 more weeks...
Good luck!! I'm still waiting.
& next, I'm trying to get a hold of a TurboTax rep to maybe push back that ridiculous $136 fee that they're trying to pull from my checking because, the fact they skipped verifying that these 2 forms were included, is not my fault that the refund is delayed and their dues aren't paid. 😛
