Use the name that is on your Social Security card (or was before you when to the SSA). Even though the Social Security records can be updated in a day or so, the IRS SSN database that comes from the SSA only gets updated about 4 times a year, and never during busy season. I would not expert the change to get to the IRS of a another month or two.
The old name will probably work, if not, then mailing is the only option.
