TurboTax is not responsible for state e-file fees. The software to do the preparation is included in the price of TurboTax with the stated limit for the number of different states allowed without an additional charge. Every state that has an income tax has different rules that can always be obtained from the state tax authority. New residents should always check the state they are moving to or working in to find out the individual requirements. In addition to using TurboTax for well over 20 years I worked for them for one tax season about 10 years ago. Things have undoubtedly changed since then.
