Unfortunately, it won't be easy.
- If you know who the other person is that claimed you. You can ask them to amend their return and take you off. You will have to mail your return, but you then could claim yourself.
- Or, you can decide not to claim yourself and then you can E-File the return. Then you could negotiate with the person that claimed you to get the additional refund.
- Or, If you don't know who it is, you can mail the tax return. The IRS will then contact both parties and determine who is right. This will probably take some time.
