Get your taxes done using TurboTax

The small print says that the AGI or PIN must be at the header with the name of the deceased.     If your spouse died last year or before you created your taxes this 2020 for 2019 and were filing MFJ for 2019,  I believe the rejection is because TurboTax does not put that info in the header (they do put the deceased's name) even if you put the correct pin or AGI in the area that Turbo Tax asks.   It is a programming error on TurboTax.   They blamed IRS when I called the Turbo Tax help desk and said to mail the taxes in along with a cover letter and copy of the death certificate (to San Francisco instead of the normal place).    I did that and got my refund in about 6 weeks.  However, I believe it is Turbo Tax's fault and will not buy it next year.    I even prepaid the $20 for e-filing the state but I had to mail that too.   The help desk said I had to send in the original box and disk to get a refund.  What a bunch of non-professionals.
