I am helping my mother file taxes. Her only income is her SSI..survivor's benefits and a senior shallow subsidy received from the city to use toward rent. How do I report the subsidy? Housing reported the funds in box 3 "rent". When I complete the forms, turbo keeps requesting information as if she is an independent contractor and or she rented property??
