Thank you for the quick response! What's confusing is that the first 1099-MISC form that TurboTax by default takes you (as you go through the wizard's steps) does not have this option. But there seems to be a separate 1099-MISC form that you have to get to by other means, like going to "Other Common Income," that does have this option, as explained by this answer: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="

I think it would alleviate confusion if TurboTax had consistent forms, and / or if your answer pointed out that the 1099-MISC that Turbotax by default guides self-employed individuals to does not have this option.
