Leave the code P and amount in Box 12 on your W-2. After you enter the W-2, enter your moving expenses. This is a separate entry which will ask for the rest of the required information needed to remove the error and provide the tax deduction. When you are signed into your return, type moving expenses into the search bar and hit enter. Use the Jump to moving expenses link in the search results to be taken to the entry section in TurboTax. Click through the screen and enter your moving expenses. At the end of the entry, the amounts from Box 12 should no longer be taxable and the error should be gone, allowing you to e-file.
