Spouse got a new SSN, can I still e-file?
I understand this is a commonly asked question, but there are contradicting answers.
My wife recently got a new SSN, and we just sent the letter to IRS asking tax records to be switched from ITIN. But it might take some time.
In the mean time, I tried to efile the tax with the new SSN, first i got the following rejection.
IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database.
The after some research, I tried to enter last year AGI as 0. But now I'm getting the following rejection.
IND-031-04 - The primary taxpayer's AGI or Self-select PIN from last year does not match IRS records.
