I'm sorry for your loss. TurboTax will ask this question when entering the personal information on your son.
You can also go to the
Personal Info Summary to add this information:
- Click on the Personal Info
tab.
- In the Personal Info section, click Edit next to your son's name. [See Screenshot #1, below.]
- On the screen, Your Personal Info, go to 3.A few other things we need to know. [Screenshot #2]
- Mark the Yes button next to I'm preparing this return for [name], who has passed away. Enter the Date passed away and click Continue.

**Mark the post that answers your question by clicking on "Mark as Best Answer"
