Hi I have a question about claiming a parent as dependent and hopefully it is not too complicated. My mother lives in Mexico and I send her money to help her out. Usually I am busy especially in the mornings and afternoons so I send the money to my brother who lives in a different state and he sends the money to her. She does not work in Mexico because she tends to be ill and has a visa to be in the U.S. currently. I was wondering if I am able to claim her as a dependent.
