Tax Year Prior to 2020: Receieved 1099-MISC, but I'm not self-employed
I received a 1099-MISC form this year for the first time and was confused as to what it even was and why I got it. We have a rewards program at work where we earn points to "cash-in" for goods and after research, this is where the 1099 is from. However, I never received any kind of money and I am not self-employed in any way. I tried to file it with my taxes through Turbo Tax, but the section kept asking me questions as if I'd money and that I couldn't answer. So, what do I even do? Do I need to file even? Can I file separately?
