Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I tried to duplicate the error you are having on your state return, and the interest, dividends and capital gains are reporting exactly like the federal on the state return.  You may want to review the entries for your interest, dividends and capital gains and make sure you don't have a duplicate entry somewhere.

To review your entries on the Federal return, follow these instructions in TurboTax,

  1. While you are in your Tax Home,
  2. Select Wages & Income,
  3. Select Review/Edit,
  4. Scroll down to see your Interest, Dividends & Capital Gains (Make sure they are only listed once).
  5. Select State Review,
  6. Scroll down until you see your Interest, Dividends & Capital Gains.
  7. If this is indeed more than what is reflected on your Federal Return, go back into your state return and check the entries.
