You have to be EXTREMELY careful..... The financial institution I use, for some estrange reason, had two identical 1099-INT for me and left out a cost basis on a sale which would have resulted in my paying an additional $3K in my taxes.
TurboTax then goes ahead and checks but does NOT detect duplicate entries, which it should !!
Needless to say, you will have to double check every entry if you want the program to work accurately......
Its a shame they don't do more error checking....both Turbo Tax and the financial institution which I won't mention....altho I am tempted.
