To amend your daughter's 2018 tax return follow the directions below.
1. Log into your Turbo Tax account
2. Click on Tax Home
3. Scroll down in the page to Your Tax Returns and Documents
4. Click on your 2018 tax return
5. Click on the option to amend your 2018 tax return.
6. Download the software to your desktop
7. Also download your 2018 .tax file
8. Open the desktop version of Turbo Tax
9. Click on amend a filed return.
10. The Program is looking for the .tax2018 file which you downloaded
11. Now you are ready to amend your return
Once you have made all of the changes to your return you will need to print it out, sign and date and mail it to the IRS according to the instructions that will print with the return.
Note it takes 8-16 weeks or more for the IRS to process amended tax return.
